Randy Newman is the owner and operator of Firetect Flame Retardant, a company he proudly co-founded in 1994 alongside his wife, Kathleen Newman. What began in their family garage has evolved into a trusted industry leader, known for its high-performance flame-retardant products, expert application services, and unwavering commitment to life safety and code compliance.

With over three decades of experience in the fire protection industry, Randy has been instrumental in shaping Firetect’s growth and reputation. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its reach across commercial, industrial, and entertainment sectors—earning the trust of architects, contractors, inspectors, and business owners alike.

Randy specializes in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) flame-retardant formulations, developing custom solutions tailored to the unique needs of manufacturers and fabricators. He is also a certified flame-retardant applicator through the state of California, ensuring all applications meet rigorous regulatory and safety standards.

His hands-on approach and deep understanding of flame-retardant chemistry, building codes, and fire safety regulations make him a sought-after expert in the field. Whether advising on large-scale projects or solving complex compliance challenges, he brings a practical, solutions-driven mindset to every task.

Outside of Firetect, Randy values time with his family above all. He and Kathleen are proud parents of three daughters and remain deeply rooted in the values that helped shape their business from day one. When he’s not focused on fire safety, Randy enjoys skiing, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with his loved ones.
