FABRIC

FABRIC PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Safe-T-Guard is a non-hazardous, non-toxic interior flame retardant for most fibers including synthetics and metallic. Also works wonderful on cardboard and paper. If applied properly, this product will not leave a white flaky residue behind. In most cases, this product will not change the hand of the fabric, will not dis-color or shrink the fabric. No smell and easy to apply on or off-site. When choosing fibers to flame-retard, the most difficult fibers are acrylic, acetate and some nylons. Although pre-testing is recommended for all fibers, these fibers most definitely need to be pre-tested. Can be dried with heat up to 300º. May need up to a 24 hour cure time depending upon application process and substrate.

TESTING PROCEDURES:
Safe-T-Guard Flame Retardant is ready to use. Applicator should wear chemical gloves, goggles and a respirator. Follow all fire safety precautions and test at your own risk. All items to be treated must be tested for verification of chemical amount, appearance, texture and performance results. Safe-T-Guard Flame Retardant will perform best if no other coating such as water repellent is on the surface. Cut two strips of specimen samples long enough for testing. Using a Hudson type orchard sprayer, apply at 40-60 PSI using a fan spray tip. Apply the chemical on one side of the first specimen and label. On the second specimen, apply the chemical on both sides and label. Let dry and cure for 3-72 hours, (average is 3-24 hours) and test. NFPA 705, Field Flame Testing Procedures are recommended for testing, although it does not guarantee acceptance by the fire authority. If results are not satisfactory, an additional light spray may be repeated or additional curing time may be required.
